From the Heathcote region, this wine has a very deep dark red hue, showing great concentration. A warm vintage shining through with an array of berries. Cherry standing proudly amongst the usual pepper and spices that the Sanguine vineyard throws up. Probably the smoothest early release Progeny to date with mouth filling richness and softening tannin with just a hint of oak in the background, as all good Progeny’s before it.
FOOD PAIRING
Take guidance from the food eaten in places where the wine was first created, Rome, Italy. Slow Braises, pasta and especially lamb.
From the Central Victoria region, the wine is lightly oaked using old French barrels, allowing the wine oak for structure and balance, without imparting strong oak tannins. The colour is ruby red and fragrances such as rhubarb, sweet cherries and spices are present. The taste is quite an earthy wine, with flavours of plum, raspberry and herbaceous notes.

An ideal partner to BBQ meats, hard cheeses such as percorino or gnocchi with tomato sauce.
