2019 Francois Chidaine Touraine Sauvignon Blanc

From the Loire Valley region, as always with Chidaine, you get terroir first and varietal second—we think you would be hard-pressed to pick this as a Sauvignon if offered the wine blind. It’s a pure, delicious, layered and pulpy Sauvignon, with the fruit clearly picked fully ripe. This brings stone fruits and gentle spice rather than any of the stereotypical characters we often associate with the variety. The depth of flavour is impressive, as is the bright, driven finish

FOOD PAIRING

Delightful with baked camembert with fig and garlic.

2020 Domaine Christian Salmon Pouilly Fume 'Les Criots' A.O.C

From the Loire Valley, the colour is very pale straw, with bright green reflections. The bouquet is a wonderful smokey, flinty aromas with a hint of grassiness over rich complex minerally notes which define first the bouquet and then the palate. The minerally palate shows nuances of citrus, in particular grapefruit. Tight with deep flavours and structure, it finishes with steely finesse. Domaine Christian Salmon Pouilly Fume leaves one with an overall sensation of freshness and balance.

FOOD PAIRING

Do not over chill, serving at 10 degrees Celsius, as an aperitif or with delicately flavoured shellfish and fish dishes such as Brochet (Pike) au Beurre Blanc.

Domaine jo Landron Muscadet Sevre et maine la louvetrie

From the Loire Valley region, it is a blinder of a wine, packed full of juicy fruit and vibrant Atlantic zing. The new vintage is not dissimilar to last year’s stunner, with generous, zesty, pithy, lemon/lime fruit alongside a ton of salinity. It glides with fantastic vibrancy across the palate, with oodles of compact fruit balanced by a mouth-watering stony/savoury element and a cool finish that crackles with freshness and length.

FOOD PAIRING

Delightful with strawberry and walnut feta salad with honey balsamic.

2020 Domaine de la Combe

Harvested at the optimum maturity, grapes are directly pressed before the juice goes in tanks by gravity. The juice doesn’t receive any sulphites till the end of the fermentation. Fermentation is complete by the wild yeast of the vineyard. As the malolactic fermentation is not suitable for my terroir, sulphites are added only once, right before the aging. That process permit to significantly decrease the amount of sulphites. It is a minimum intervention wine.

FOOD PAIRING

Try with your favourite antipasto board.
