2019 Sanguine, Progeny, Shiraz

From the Heathcote region, this wine is a very deep dark red hue, showing great concentration. A warm vintage shining through with an array of berries. Cherry stands proudly amongst the usual pepper and spices that the Sanguine vineyard throws up. Probably the smoothest early release Progeny to date with mouth filling richness and softening tannin with just a hint of oak in the background, as all good Progenys before it.

FOOD PAIRING

Take guidance from the food eaten in places where the wine was first created, Rome, Italy.  Slow Braises, pasta and especially lamb.

2018 Yering Station, Village, Pinot Noir

From the Yarra Valley region, this wine offers dark red cherries and plum that leap out of the glass with fresh and fragrant dried herbs. The taste is vibrant with juicy red raspberries and plum strudel, which lead into more complex and savoury notes of briary spice and wild herbs. The tannins are fine-grained giving a lovely elegant structure, when combined with the bright acidity, it leads to a long and satisfying finish.

FOOD PAIRING

Gamey meals will enhance the wine, think venison steaks with stroganoff sauce.

2018 Tahbilk, The Tower, Shiraz

From the Goulburn region, this wine is varietally expressive with ample plum and blackberry fruits, there is warm earth and spicy savouriness that immediately appeals with a backbone of fine, sinewy tannins.

FOOD PAIRING

Pairs beautifully with a roast rack of lamb or prime rib roast.

2020 Plantagenet, Angevin, Riesling

From the Great Southern Western Australia region, this wine has aromas of vibrant lemon blossom, lime, wet quartz, a touch of flint, white flower petals, almost rose petals. The taste offers zesty lime and quartz, fine talky phenolics framing the palate, citrus fleshy texture with fine zesty and long persistent finish with a saline, mineral edge.

FOOD PAIRING

Perfect with Albany Rock Oysters.

2019 Bethany, First Village, Chardonnay

From the Barossa Valley region, the colour is straw gold with green highlights. Bright, fresh nose of pink grapefruit, white florals and clove spice. Lovely structured and fluid palate with tight acid and aromatic floral notes swirling through the stone and orchard fruits. There is a balanced fruit weight to the palate but the tight citrus pith and stony minerality ensure there is abundant life and vibrancy coursing through. The wine has great length with a perfect balance of fruit and lightly complexing oak.

FOOD PAIRING

Delightful with white wine and garlic linguini & clam pasta.

2018 Tahbilk, The Tower, Marsanne/Viognier/Roussanne

From the Goulburn Valley region, the nose and palate exhibit the classic Tahbilk Marsanne characters of citrus, honeysuckle and orange blossom. A flavourful and fresh peach lift is exposed with undertones of apricot, lime and balanced spice from the Roussanne. The typical refreshing crisp acidity lingers with this classic
Rhone-style blend. A wine of remarkable quality and exceptional freshness.

FOOD PAIRING

Perfect with Mild Indian chicken curry dishes with coconut rice or slow-cooked pork belly.
